Dyspraxia
occurs when someone’s natural centre of balance is in an unfavourable
place; which causes left/right confusion and poor co-ordination. It can
also affect handwriting, speech, muscle-tone and posture.
All Davis programmes include balance exercises as it an important part of resolving
the underlying issues.
When a person displaying dyspraxic symptoms is given a better core balance, improvements
can soon be seen not only regarding ‘clumsiness’, but also in posture,
balance and general attention levels.
People with dyspraxia can often have problems understanding what has been said,
and may even have a speech impairment. Researchers have noticed that it usually
accompanies dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia or ADD/ADHD and it affects between
2 and 4%
of the population. |
